n a significant move to combat the rising tide of cybercrimes, the Andhra Pradesh Police Department has launched specialized Cyber Security Investigation Units across the state. This initiative, led by Inspector General-level officers, aims to not only apprehend cybercriminals but also proactively prevent fraud and educate the public about online safety.
Key highlights of this initiative include:
➡Establishment of 26 cybercrime police stations, one in each district headquarters.
➡A focus on the critical "Golden Hour" to freeze stolen funds before they are transferred.
➡Recruitment of cyber experts and the creation of a specialized IT cadre.
➡Advanced training for 200 police personnel at IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras, transforming them into "cyber commandos."
➡Development of a 24/7 helpline and a dedicated mobile application for swift reporting.
