In a significant breakthrough in combating cybercrime, the Union Home Ministry's Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) has successfully utilized the 'Pratibimb' module to arrest 6,046 cybercriminals. This innovative tool, which maps the locations of criminals and crime infrastructure, has also facilitated 17,185 linkages and processed 36,296 cyber investigation assistance requests, as informed in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

The 'Pratibimb' module provides jurisdictional officers with a comprehensive view of criminal activities by mapping their locations. It also enables Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to seek and receive techno-legal assistance from I4C and other subject matter experts. This initiative is part of a broader effort to address cybercrime in a coordinated and comprehensive manner.

Additionally, the Ministry has launched 'Samanvaya,' a coordination platform for LEAs to share and analyze cybercrime data. This platform focuses on interstate linkages of crimes and criminals, enhancing the efficiency of investigations.

To further strengthen the fight against cybercrime, the state-of-the-art 'National Cyber Forensic Laboratory (Investigation)' has been established in New Delhi. This facility provides early-stage cyber forensic assistance to Investigating Officers (IOs) from State and Union Territory police forces. To date, the laboratory has assisted in approximately 11,835 cases related to cybercrimes.

These initiatives underscore the government's commitment to leveraging technology to tackle the growing menace of cybercrime. The achievements of the 'Pratibimb' module and other related efforts mark a significant step forward in ensuring a safer digital environment for citizens.
